Jayanand Khira develops portable medical units for rural India
Mumbai-based Jayanand Khira (JKPL), a leading commercial vehicle body manufacturer in India, has developed an innovative portable medical unit with a vision to offer healthcare facilities to rural India. According to the company’s press statement, the Portable Medical Unit comes with a unique expansion feature, which allows doubling the area available in less than one hour with just three people. With a customizable interior layout, it can be used with or without a truck. Moreover, the design allows all interior equipment to be stored within the unit, even when the expansion module is closed.

Commercial vehicle body maker Jayanand Khira & Co on Tuesday said it has developed a portable medical unit to strengthen healthcare infrastructure amid coronavirus pandemic.
The portable medical units include patient beds, reception area, doctor”s consultation-cum-treatment room and a pharmacy counter, and can be used with or without a truck, a release said.
Moreover, the sizing of the unit is designed in such a way that it allows users to rapidly deploy it anytime anywhere, especially in times of disaster and crisis, it added.
